Special Mothers Day Class is a one-day workshop inviting

second Annual Explore-A-Thon Family Fundraiser,
The Westchester Children’s Museum (WCM), www.discoverwcm.org,

Fundraiser designed for children and their families,
this event allows participants to enjoy interactive
“Exploration Stations,” located along a
one-mile route, that are modeled after exhibits to be
housed at the future WCM. The Explore-A-Thon will take
place on the boardwalk next to the historic Rye Playland
Bathhouses, the site of the future Westchester Children’s
Museum. Money raised will benefit the construction of
the children’s museum, the first in Westchester.

for volunteers for its new Medical Reserves Corps (MRC). Members
would be called upon for any large-scale emergency, natural
disaster, public health event or bio-terrorism incident in the
county. Volunteers might also contribute to existing local public
health initiatives and participate in emergency response drills.
The program, sponsored by the county’s Department of Emergency
Services and The Volunteer Center of United Way, aims to recruit
physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, veterinarians, infectious
disease specialists, mental health professionals, physician
assistants, paramedics and EMTs, public health workers and allied
health professionals. Participants will receive free training.
