Naturally dramatic and in need of a place to unleash their emotions as well as to act, dance or just plain old party, teens and tweens sate all their desires in fun, positive ways at Manhattan Clubhouse & Studio 47. This party and performing arts space with locations spanning Manhattan holds empowering arts and health-based classes, along with full-service and completely customized bar/bat mitzvahs, sweet 16s, graduation parties, fashion shows, fundraisers— and any other fete a customer imagines. From beginning to end, event planner Colleen Harrison, who owned Manhattan Treehouse for six years and has a tween and teen of her own, personalizes each party to suit a celebrant’s every whim. From invitations, decorations, catering, entertainment, cake, set up and clean up, Ms. Harrison and her staff cover all party details and can tailor the elements to reflect a chosen theme, including hiring a colorful cast of stunt men and clowns if the client chooses a circus soiree! Also available are the array of performance arts programs, such as audition technique workshop, vocal performance and musical theatre dance. Led by Rising Stars Academy, current programs are taught by Broadway talents, from casting directors to performers. Other programs in the Academy that help adolescents realize the importance of the mind-body connection are coming soon, including yoga, nutrition, fencing and Capoiera (a dance-based martial arts program).
