At The Stony Brook School’s Sound Learning summer program, your children will be inspired and educated in an exciting, engaging environment. This two-week residential program, which runs from July 15-July 28, is the perfect opportunity to introduce your children to the comprehensive college preparatory curriculum offered at The Stony Brook School, and students of all faiths entering grades 6-10 are welcomed. Campers will be introduced to boarding school life as they develop new skills, make new friends and engage in a variety of activities. Students entering grades 6-8 will “Discover the Lost Art of Writing,” and older students will take part in “Refining the Writer’s Fire,” a course that will strengthen specific skills required for academic success. Campers also participate in hands-on electives of their choice, including marine biology, robotics, theater arts and visual arts. Each elective aims to develop well-rounded, motivated young adults who find inspiration in academics and various creative outlets. Other camp activities include daily sailing and beach excursions, as well as exposure to New York City culture.
