Each summer, young people from all over the country come to Alfred to participate in exciting programs in astronomy, creative writing, entrepreneurial leadership, swimming, basketball and horseback riding, and this year Alfred is introducing a new program that will provide leadership training for girls– “Women Leaders of Tomorrow.” The campus is located in a lovely, safe, peaceful village in the Finger Lakes region of New York State, where summer days are warm and nights are cool and comfortable. Surrounded by rolling hills and beautiful vistas, it’s the perfect place to spend an enjoyable week learning more about a favorite subject or sport and making friends with others who share that interest. All programs are staffed by distinguished university faculty and our caring, friendly, specially trained camp counselors. Campers stay in clean, modern residence halls and meals are served in the university dining hall. When not in instruction sessions, campers enjoy organized recreational activities on campus as well as free time for relaxation. Living, dining and learning together, they have ample opportunity to get to know each other well and develop lasting friendships. The age requirement for Alfred’s programs ranges from 10-17, depending upon the camp. For further information, please visit the Web site.
