Dorothy P. Flint 4-H Camp
Cornell Cooperative Extension of
Nassau County
(516)292-7990, ext. 11
Celebrating their 80th year of camp, Cornell
Cooperative Extension is committed to offering
their camper families a high quality educational
program, achieving the same level of excellence
as their partners at Cornell University. The
camp is located on the North Fork of Long Island.
The camp’s 140 acre natural setting includes
woodlands, bluffs, pine forests, sand dunes,
farmland, and beachfront. This co-educational
sleep away camp is a great place for children
enjoying a week or several weeks of summer.
The DPF 4-H camp is open to all children entering
grades 4-10. Their camping program offers many
traditional camping activities and specialized
in-depth programming. Traditional camping programs
include sports, dance, swimming, arts &
crafts, fishing, drama, outdoor living, canoeing,
wood working, rocketry, archery, nature and
more! Specialized in-depth programs include
soccer, lacrosse, farm, horseback riding, adventure
program and CIT. The camp has a low and high
ropes challenge course, nature center with touch
tanks, 40-acre work and learn farm, indoor horseback
riding arena and many riding trails. Evening
programs include talent shows, carnivals, dances,
scavenger hunts, wagon rides, cookouts, campfires
and much more. Meals are served family style
in the lodge, food is plentiful and the comprehensive
salad bar offers campers many additional choices.
The camp’s administrative and program
staff is comprised of teachers, educators, college
graduates and camp alumni. The senior counselors
have completed counselor-training programs and
most have been campers themselves. International
staff from the United Kingdom compliments their
seasoned American staff. The international counselors
share their rich cultural backgrounds with the
campers. The American Camping Association Camp
accredits the camp and they are proud of their
high standards they achieve regarding the health,
safety and welfare of their campers. Monday
to Saturday sessions from July 3-August 26,
2006. Stayover sessions available throughout
the summer.
