Located in historic Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York Military Academy (NYMA) has been Making Good Kids Better since 1889. Cadet achievement is measured by the success of NYMA graduates in entering the nation’s leading colleges and universities to include the United States Service Academies. Cadets participate in a rigorous college prep curriculum and interscholastic athletic program within a structured environment that implements military tradition to achieve success in and out of the classroom. The Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps teaches accountability and responsibility as well as the character and leadership skills that define NYMA students as successful citizens who will make significant contributions to their communities and country. The prestigious designation of Honor Unit with Distinction allows NYMA to nominate qualified seniors to the United States Service Academies. Weekend outings, parades, band, drill team and a horsemanship program are just a few of the additional activities that round out cadet life at the academy. Open House events and personal interviews are available throughout the year for students entering grades 7-12. A Post Graduate year is also available to high school graduates desiring an additional academic year in order to enhance their college placement.
