If your teenager wants more than just an average, traditional summer camp and wants to really expand in personal growth and celebrate differences, then give Omega Teen Camp a try. The camp’s unique summer program for ages 13-17 is designed to help teenagers gain personal power, build self-confidence and self-esteem— all while developing deep and lasting friendships. Fun, connection, self-exploration and self-expression are at the core of Omega’s values. Located just 90 minutes north of New York City on 450 acres, Omega offers hands-on workshops, quality instruction delivered by counselor-teachers and visiting professionals, and experiences that cater to your teen’s self-direction. Its program focuses on the integration of body, mind and spirit. Challenging activities include indulging in a sweat lodge, fire walking and a ropes course. Relaxing activities include Thai massage and Yoga, which help teens settle into their bodies and learn new ways to move. A new Senior Camper Program, for ages 17 and older, is designed to help teens navigate the challenges of entering college or the work place. Senior campers have special privileges like field trips and later curfews, but they are also campers who abide by all rules. They take classes like healthy dorm-room cooking, finance management, developing healthy study habits and more. Omega offers a four-week program from July 16-August 12. Teens can attend for either two or four weeks.
