Unleash creativity with Drawing Lessons led by James Galpin. All kids need is a sketchbook and pencil to get started— and in private or semi-private classes artistic aspirations such as drawing an intriguing picture or painting a transporting artwork can become a reality. Limited to three kids ages 10 and up, semi-private and private lessons take place after school, Monday through Friday, 4-9pm, in an inspiring studio. Owned by a portrait painter who spends most of his time in France, the studio has paintings in progess and completed artworks adorning the room. Though Galpin’s technique differs from the portraiture artist, the works help to create an artistic atmosphere. In class, everyone begins by learning how to draw through basic exercises. Once kids discover how to see, understand and process what they observe visually through drawing, they use their drawing foundation to paint and design. The possibilities with this basic foundation are endless! An art major in college who studied drawing and painting, Galpin has taught at various museums, at a private high school and at drawing and painting private lessons. Allow artistic aspirations to come alive by learning under this experienced, patient teacher.
