Indian Mountain is a coeducational day and boarding school serving a diverse population of 260 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 9, with boarders in grades 6 through 9. Indian Mountain provides a traditional education for boys and girls. The School promotes moral growth and personal academic excellence, in a setting that fosters a respect for learning, the environment and each other. Indian Mountain celebrates its international and culturally diverse community, and guides and challenges students through balanced elementary and middle school scholastic, athletic and arts curricula, combining instruction and coaching with a system of personal support. Students are involved in an adventure education and community service program, which ties into the spirit of IMS. Indian Mountain helps students to gain confidence in their own innate abilities and to develop the necessary academic and personal skills to be successful in secondary education. A well-defined set of values— honesty, compassion and respect— are played out through the school motto: life through service. What sets Indian Mountain apart is its faculty. These teachers, coaches and advisors encourage students to explore their potential. In doing so, they enable students to become critical thinkers, spirited athletes, inspired artists and responsible citizens of not only their own community, but of the larger world as well.
