A leader in progressive education, LREI believes that academic excellence is best achieved through experiential learning. In the college preparatory program (pre-k-12th), skill building, integrated projects and real-world applications lead students from basic understanding to mastery. Child-centered classes nurture both intellectual rigor and a genuine joy of learning within a diverse environment. In the high school, students continue a well-balanced program of academics, the arts, community service and athletics. Students may supplement their program with Honors Projects, as well as courses at NYU. Seniors conclude their year with a Senior Project, comprised of fieldwork with a professional mentor and a major research journal.
