Part of an international community of schools based on the Waldorf Education model, the Rudolf Steiner School fosters students’ academic skills as well as their artistic, emotional and social development, thereby nurturing the whole person. Like the Lower School, the Upper School maintains small class sizes that allow significant individual attention. Teachers recognize students’ strengths and weaknesses, continually helping students to further enhance their skills as well as their confidence level. Each class has a faculty advisor who monitors student progress, coordinates class activities and functions as a liaison between home and school life. The particular pedagogical style encourages students to understand how academics relate to the world at large. Students take things learned in the classroom, be it the importance of cooperation or the ability to solve logic problems and apply them to their experiences with family, friends and work endeavors. Waldorf education integrates the full range of subjects in a manner commensurate with the adolescent’s growing consciousness. Extensive extracurricular and summer programs are also available, enabling students to participate in athletics, community service, drama, journalism and more. Discover all that Rudolf Steiner has to offer your tween or teen by calling the numbers listed.
